The new year is off to a great start. We have new homes under construction and we're taking applications for new homeowners!
I hope the sun is shining when you are reading this, because it is raining as I type, and precipitation – both wet and frozen – has greatly slowed our construction efforts so far in 2023. But, we do have three homes under construction and have just awarded a contract for the construction of four more!
Also in January, we hosted orientation sessions for prospective homebuyers and are accepting applications through February 22. As we are processing the applications we've received so far, we are loving interacting with these families; they are at the heart of our mission. (Speaking of hearts, we hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!) Last weekend, a former board member visited the ReStore and sent the kindest email afterward. He complimented the way the store and grounds looked and the congeniality of the staff. If you haven’t been to 6700 S. University recently, please come shop and donate! It is a major source of revenue for our mission and an easy way for you to be a part of building homes, communities, and hope.
