Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas and First Electric Cooperative teamed up on Saturday, November 5, for our first ever Rock the Block in Jacksonville! Rock the Block is a part of Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas's Neighborhood Revitalization program that expands the Habitat mission to make sure everyone has a decent place to live. First Electric Cooperative in Jacksonville sponsored the event and also performed energy audits on focus area homes. Residents identified ways to cut back on their energy bills and lower their overhead costs thanks to the energy audits! Rock the Block projects have an enormous impact in our focus neighborhoods, making homes safer and helping to restore a sense of pride for everyone.
Keep Arkansas Beautiful also helped out by providing supplies that will helped with the neighborhood clean up. We are so thankful for the community support we've had to get out there and Rock the Block. Together with local volunteers, we repaired seven homes and had a great time with the neighbors. Between the repairs and the clean up, we touched 72 homes on Saturday! Thank you First Electric Cooperative and all of the volunteers who came out! If you missed out this time and are interested in helping on the next one, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
